How Can cough And Burning Sensation In The Throat Be Treated?

Pain in throat/neck just behind jugular notch (left side) after 1st swallow, pain goes away after 2 or 3 swallows. I think I can even feel soreness when pushing on throat just to the left of notch, right along the lower part of the hard cartilage there (trachea?). Could this pain be from inside my throat, or is it something structural/muscular around my throat? I have had mild LPR symptoms in the past, nothing more than mild throat clearing after meals sometimes. Never any cough, horseness, burning, etc. I do not have any difficulty swallowing solids. What could this be? It only happens after one swallow, then goes away after subsequent swallows.

Hi, there must be a slight bruise there. That is why it hurts on first swallow. The first swallow soothes the area, so there is less pain subsequently. I think given time, it will reduce. Otherwise go in for an oesophagoscopy---regards
